If you have ever been on a Cuan Law charter you know Friday is the beach BBQ in Spring Bay. Our chefs prepare a beach side barbecue complete with grilled hamburgers, hot dogs, mahi and shrimp with all the sides. Our guided hike thru the Baths along the water edge is a guest favorite. Cold beers, painkillers and rum punch are on the ready when guests arrive to the bbq.
Here are some photos from our most recent visit to Spring Bay, Virgin Gorda. The green is coming back and the palm trees are filling up again. We hope to see you back soon!
The crew for Cuan Law are too good for words! To say they’re accomodating wouldn’t do them justice. They cooked amazing meals, made delicious drinks, and always had a smile and a fun story! They were a delight and by the end of the trip felt like the friends we were diving with. Speaking of diving the 2 DMs were great under water and had many suggestions for sites. There was a day we had a few dives scheduled around an island and the first site was pretty poor vis for the Caribbean and so we pulled anchor and just went to another island. It was incredible to giant stride off the back of the boat onto ship wrecks and take the tender out under the moon light for a night dive. When we weren’t diving or eating we were lounging around the top or playing watersports. We were always given the opportunity to go ashore or kayak or tube or hobiecat. You really can’t beat the experience!
What a great trip! We chartered Cuan Law, a motor sailing trimaran, for our annual trip for a group of 20 divers. The 10 cabins grouped around the salon are spacious, each with private bath. The entire crew was super, so customer oriented! Capt. Jamie scheduled 4 dives per day for us and with help form Dive Instructor Chris and Dive Master Travis they did not repeat dive sites and sought out the best times and conditions to put us in the water. The diving was diverse – reefs, ship wrecks, even an airplane wreck all with healthy coral and fish populations.
Chef Sue created amazing food and managed everyone’s special dietary requests with ease. Engineer Jesse kept all systems on the boat going. All of the friendly & happy crew bent over backward to accommodate our requests. Besides diving we enjoyed visits to Salt Island and the Baths at Virgin Gorda.
We highly recommend Cuan Law, it was a great vacation!

My diving group chartered the entire boat for a week (20 guests) in July 2017.
We charter a live-aboard dive boat every year. The Cuan Law charter was a unique experience with a motor sailing trimaran (instead of standard motor live-aboard boats). When under sail she is a beautiful sight and when under power very stable with the three hulls.
The crew was fantastic, helpful, service oriented, energetic and fun. Food was plentiful and very good. The diving was diverse among healthy coral and fish population and carefully chosen to avoid strong currents and swells.
I would recommend the Cuan Law without reservation. If a couple includes a diver and a non diver this is a great option too because she often anchors near islands offering swimming and snorkeling options.

The Rum Bar
Guests aboard Cuan Law are welcome to venture to shore via kayak or dinghy to sample aged rums from all over the Caribbean. Order a sampler board and the knowledgeable and friendly bartender JJ will explain the history, recipes, and origins of the rums.
It’s also worth a trip to grab a coffee from Virgin Islands Roasters next door at the Coffee Shop. A full range of gourmet delights are on offer such as espresso, smoothies, gelato, pastries and salads, and our favorite…chocolate fudge! (Free WIFI)
Machioneel Bay, Cooper Island is world renowned for white sand beaches and crystal clear waters. Cuan Law guests can explore the waters by kayak or hobie cat. Enjoy the snorkeling at Cistern Point – keep an eye out for turtles, eagle rays, tarpon, angel fish, and schools of squid.
The beautiful waters surrounding Cooper Island offer a variety of different dive experiences. The famous RMS Rhone, a British steamship, which foundered on Black Rock Point and is known as one of the world’s top dive sites.

One of our favorite stops during your BVI sailing vacation is Spring Bay in Virgin Gorda which lies east of the Baths. Giant boulders line the beach where our crew sets up a delicious BBQ lunch of grilled burgers, hot dogs, fish, salads and cooler of mixed drinks, wine and beer.
Its small coves, which provide safe snorkeling are perfect for families with kids. Massive boulders form coves that allow a steady but calm flow of water back and forth. Marine life is vibrant at Spring Bay since fishing is not permitted. A unique enclosure of boulders forms a natural pool called The Crawl. In the past, this was used by fishermen to hold turtles and fishes alive until they were ready to be used.
